Essential Functions of the Case Aide:

Provide direct supervision and support to youth in shelter settings, ensuring safety, engagement, and well-being at all times.
  • Provide safe transportation for youth to school, scheduled medical, therapeutic, and other approved appointments, family visitations, and outings across all scheduled shifts, ensuring all trips are documented in accordance with agency protocol.
  • Assist youth with activities of daily living, including hygiene, meal preparation, household routines, and recreation.
  • Support youth in implementing individual goal plans, academic development, life skills, and social-emotional growth.
  • Facilitate structured life skills group activities, exercises, and recreational programs to encourage youth development; this includes leading a menu planning group with youth on Monday nights to teach independent living skills, prevent food waste, and prepare the shopping list for the week.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to program schedules and dietary requirements.
    • Case Aide Operations & Inventory(Tuesday - Thursday Focus)
      • Complete in-person grocery shopping at approved vendors (e.g., Shop Rite, Costco, BJ's) on Wednesday mornings around 7:30 AM, purchasing fresh ingredients based directly on the youth-designed weekly menu before transitioning back to the floor.
      • Maintain pantry organization, rotate food inventory, and safely store facility supplies and community donations.
Minimum Qualifications of the Case Aide:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED,
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and able to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of the Shelter program.
  • Possess sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development and behavior.
  • Display strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments effectively.
  • Demonstrate creativity, flexibility in approaches to people and projects, and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and inspection on any vehicle used for daily work or transportation of clients. Must pass an annual motor vehicle clearance to operate agency vehicles.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Windows software; familiarity with the Google Suite is desired.
  • Must have no history of prohibited criminal or child abuse offenses.

Physical Requirements for the Case Aide:

  • Ability to navigate stairs is highly preferred, as some locations are not fully handicap accessible.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Constantly
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 25 pounds. X Occasionally
