Case Aid (Allentown)

Valley Youth House empowers and strengthens the lives of children, youth and families through inclusive programming that builds resilience and fosters growth and independence.

We are currently looking for a qualified applicant to fill the following position: FT - Case Aid - ($13hr - $15hr)


Job Description: The Case Aid is responsible for providing transportation to youth, menu planning and food purchasing, and coordinating the maintenance of the site. The Case Aid/Transporter is under the authority of the regional Sr. Vice-President and reports directly to the Program Supervisor.


Critical Functions
  1. Provide safe transportation for youth to scheduled medical, therapy or other associated appointments and family visitations. Document all trip information per protocol.
  2. Support the life skill counselors with day to day functions, and be a role model for youth who are learning household and daily life skills.
  3. Organize and prepare weekly meal plans that are reviewed and shared with the young adults.
  4. Coordinate and assist with interior and exterior site maintenance for residential homes.
Essential Functions:
  1. Supervise and assure safety of residents, and provide day coverage as needed or assigned at the residential homes.
  2. Represent the program and agency in a professional manner and maintain positive community relationships in a proactive manner.
  3. Address and report any crisis or critical situation as defined by agency and/or county, state orfederal regulations according to the agency's formalized practice and protocols.
Other Duties:
  1. Understand and adhere to Valley Youth House policies, practices and procedures.
  2. To participate in scheduled weekly supervision with direct supervisor and be prepared with an agenda.
  3. To attend and actively participate in team meetings.
  4. To attend both external and internal agency trainings and workshops and complete and pass all required trainings as set forth in the funder and licensing regulations as required .
  5. To complete other related tasks as appropriate or assigned.

Qualifications: The Case Aid shall  be a mature individual with the ability to identity with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of positive youth development in the independent living program. The Case Aid will possess sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development. This individual will be organized and highly adept at managing multiple tasks and assignments. Successful team members are creative thinkers and flexible in their approaches to people and projects. They will never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense. They shall possess a minimum of one-year experience working with adolescents, and a high school diploma/GED. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
