Position: FT - Wellness Educator - ($31hr - $37hr)

Essential Functions of the Wellness Educator
- To provide high-quality clinical direction and leadership to staff in all program settings and foster a positive youth/human development environment.
- A minimum of 15% of working time will be spent providing individual counseling services to assigned clients in clinical areas.
- A minimum of 35% of working time will be spent providing group instruction in clinical services areas including ATOD, parenting, anger management, LGBTQ supports, and others as identified by program needs.
- Ensure up-to-date paper & electronic program and client records in compliance with agency practices & protocols, county, state & federal regulations, and private grant requirements as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications for the Wellness Educator
- The Wellness Educator shall be a mature individual with the ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of positive youth development in the independent living program.
- The Wellness Educator will possess sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development, clinical group instruction, and curriculum development.
- Will have a strong background or interest in working with youth facing challenges with Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs.
- Successful team members are creative thinkers and flexible in their approaches to people and projects.
- They will never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.
- They shall possess a minimum of three years of experience working with adolescents and a Masters in counseling, social work, or an equivalent combination of experience in the field and education.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of counseling experience.
- Experience working with and assessing clients with challenges with Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. X Occasionally
- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds X Occasionally
