Essential Functions:
- To successfully engage and maintain youth and families through the treatment process.
- To provide effective individual, parent, family group counseling services to clients in office, client homes, schools and other settings as appropriate within the context of outreach services and according to treatment plans.
- To identify, link, and coordinate all necessary services.
- To implement services in cooperation with the youth's case manager, meeting at least one time per week to coordinate services.
- To review services on a monthly basis and document the effectiveness of services in the plan and the client's continuing need for service
- To provide regular ongoing case coordination and collateral contact with other community agencies also involved in individual cases.
- To achieve stated treatment goals with assigned families.
- To represent the program in treatment conferences with other agencies in a professional manner.
- To provide quality representation of services with an individual family in court when subpoenaed.
- To meet at least one time per week with his/her assigned supervisor individually or as part of a team.
- To provide crisis response to families in need including providing program on-call responsibilities which includes responding by phone within 15 minutes of the contact and going to the family home or community site if the situation cannot be resolved by phone.
- To follow the policies, procedures, and rules stated in the agency personnel policy handbook and program procedure manual(s).
- To immediately report to the supervisor:
- Any situation in which a child, family member, or another person is at risk of harm and/or a death occurs in an open case or a case open at the agency within the last 90 days.
- To immediately report to the supervisor any situation in which a client is threatening to sue Valley Youth House
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in a human services discipline or enrollment in a graduate human service program in which graduation will occur no later than two years from hire is required.
- An additional two years of CASSI) experience is necessary with a master's degree for Therapists in the Children's Behavioral Health Component.
- They will never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally
