Safe Space Ambassador

Position Title: Safe Space Ambassador ($20hr to $23hr)

Essential Functions of the Safe Space Ambassador

  • Implement trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to interactions with youth program participants, ensuring a safe and supportive environment that aligns with Office Community Guidelines.
  • Use proactive verbal de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and secure office environment, preventing and managing potential conflicts.
  • Provide a welcoming and professional presence at reception, maintaining open communication with clients, staff, visitors, and stakeholders to ensure an inviting yet secure atmosphere.
  • Monitor and support youth program participants upon their arrival, verifying their program purpose and fostering a sense of safety and comfort through engaging and reassuring conversations.
  • Assist in delivering youth programming, prioritizing safety during activities such as drop-in sessions, life skills groups, and resource navigation to create a secure and inclusive experience for participants.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • To never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.
  • Possess sound judgment and knowledge of youth and young adults' development.
  • Organized and highly adept at managing multiple tasks and assignments

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. X Occasionally
  • Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds. X Occasionally
