Essential Functions of the Life Skills Instructor:

    • Facilitate 200-230 hours of classroom, cultural events, and summer programming annually per the approved program description. All classes should follow the approved life skills curriculum on the Google Drive and ensure that all classes are run from an experiential learning framework to meet the program objectives.
    • Ensure the timely & accurate completion of all required paperwork (including documentation requirements) per the AAI Paperwork Guidelines document and the approved program description.
    • Provide a minimum of 8 hours a week of 1-on-1 sessions with assigned clients focusing on completing goals as listed in the Transition plan document.
    • Ensure timely updates to Life Skills Counselors and tracking of all programming provided, materials, and costs.

    Minimal Qualifications for the Life Skills Instructor:

    • An associate's degree in Social Work, Education, or other related field. If the degree is in an unrelated field then the candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in the social services field.
    • One or more years experience working with youth and young adults or facilitating groups/events.
    • A valid driver's license, a motor vehicle report that meets agency requirements, and reliable transportation that can safely transport clients if needed.
    • Ability to work a hybrid schedule that includes evenings.
    • Ability to complete the pre-employment physical and drug test requirements.

    Physical Requirements for the Life Skills Instructor:

    • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Constantly
