Essential Functions of the Life Skills Counselor:
- Facilitate 748 hours (17 hours a week x 44 weeks) of 1:1 instruction with their assigned caseload working on youth-established goals in the Transition plan at the level of service determined by the Service level needs assessment.
- Ensure the timely & accurate completion of all required paperwork (including documentation requirements) per the AAI Paperwork Guidelines document and the approved program description.
- Ensure timely updates to all members of the client's team per the guidelines listed in the approved program description.
- professionally represent Valley Youth House at all Court hearings, professional meetings, and public events.
Minimal Qualifications for the Life Skills Counselor:
- An associate's degree or equivalent of 60-90 college credits in Social Work or related field. If the degree is in an unrelated field then the candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in the social services field.
- One or more years experience working with youth and young adults or providing case management services.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule that includes evenings.

Physical Requirements for the Life Skills Counselor
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Constantly
