Intake and Therapy Specialist

Position Title: Intake and Therapy Specialist ($28hr to $31hr)

Location: Philadelphia, Delco, Montco

Essential Functions Intake and Therapy Specialist

  • To provide high quality clinical direction and leadership to staff in all program settings and fostering a positive youth/human development environment.
  • To provide individual counseling services to clients within Philadelphia, Delaware, and Montgomery counties upon request.
  • Spend 50% of time providing direct client contact virtually and within homes, as needed.
  • Responsible for completing intakes for all housing programs in a timely manner.
  • Processing and overseeing incoming agency referrals from community agencies.
  • Completing quarterly and annual assessments for youth in Independent Living programs.
  •  Assist the teams in providing youth-respectful, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based support services for all youth.
  • Complete required and necessary documentation and paperwork, including clinical notes, discharge recommendations, monthly reports, etc.
  • Complete enrollments for incoming clients into agency databases at intake.
  • Attend and co-lead weekly youth review meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Master's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, other related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with adolescents in a clinical setting.
  • They shall never have been convicted of any child abuse offense.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed practices.
  • Ability to complete biopsychical assessments with understanding of clinical notation.
  • Possess sound judgement and strong clinical skills with the utilization of clinical practices, such as, counseling techniques, use of crisis interventions, active listening, etc.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to administer clinical assessments and create treatment plans (i.e., depression scales, safety planning, crisis intervention).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with providing individual counseling.
  • Knowledge of DHS policies & procedures and community mental health resources.
  • Understanding of housing insecurity within the Philadelphia areas.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to function well as a team member.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing vConstantly
  • Able to climb in and out of vehicle multiple times per day vOccasionally
  • Able to walk up and down stairs as necessary vOccasionally
  • Reach with hands and arms and sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk, working on a computer vConstantly
