Intake & Therapy Specialist

 We are currently looking for a qualified applicant to fill the following position: FT- Intake and Therapy Specialist ($17.50hr - $19hr)

Job Duties: 

The Intake and Therapy Specialist is responsible for managing client intakes, overseeing the incoming of referrals from community agencies, serving as the clinical liaison for the program, and working with families for therapy as needed. The Intake and Therapy Specialist is under the authority of the Senior Vice President and reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor and Associate Director

Core Functions of Position:

  1. To provide high quality clinical direction and leadership to staff in all program settings and fostering a positive youth/human development environment.
  2. To provide individual and group counseling services to assigned clients and spend 50% of time providing direct client contact.
  3. Responsible for completing intakes for all housing programs in a timely manner.
  4. Processing and overseeing incoming agency referrals from community agencies.
  5. Manage and oversee client tracking lists and program census reports.
  6. To complete quarterly SE Independent Living Assessments for youth in all programs.
  7. Collaborate with Emergency Services with completing weekly housing assessments during Access Point Drop-In hours.
  8. To assist the team in providing youth-respectful, culturally sensitive, and strengths based support services for all youth.
  9. To complete required and necessary documentation and paperwork, including clinical notes, discharge recommendations, quarterly reports, etc.

Essential Functions: 
  1. Attend and co-lead weekly Youth Review meetings.
  2. Meet once a week for supervision with Clinical Supervisor. 
  3. Attending monthly meetings with outside agencies discussing program census.
  4. Attending quarterly Housing Provider meetings.
  5. Enrolling incoming clients into agency databases at intake.
  6. Attending weekly Youth Case Conferencing meetings with the Office of Homeless Services.

Other Duties:

  1. Timely completion of training in accordance with program standards.
  2. Accurate and timely completion of personnel materials (i.e. mileage reimbursement, time sheets, etc.).
  3. Complete other related tasks as appropriate or assigned.
  4. Knowledge, commitment, and support of agency values and goals. 


The Intake and Therapy Specialist shall be a mature individual with the ability to articulate and implement the philosophy of The Independent Living Program. The Intake and Therapy Specialist will possess sound judgement and strong clinical and youth work skills. They will have a demonstrated ability to function well as a team member. They shall never have been convicted of any child abuse offense. They shall possess a minimum of three years' experience working with adolescents and a Master's degree in human services, counseling, social work, or other related field.
