Essential Functions of the - Associate Director of Advancement:

1. Establish community relationships/partnerships that build new donor prospects or funding streams and advance the Agency mission in the counties served.

    • a. Develop and maintain an extensive portfolio of 100 - 150 prospects. Research, identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned giving prospects. Conduct 12-20 phone and/or face-to-face solicitations per month and document 12-20 weekly donor contacts, including site tours and visitation, utilizing Moves Management process.
    • b. Support DonorPerfect database growth and manage the integrity of the database by ensuring that 100% of the activity is accurately recorded.
    • Actively manage and coordinate all aspects of Annual Requests ($400,000+ net annually), Major Gifts, Campaigns, and Planned Gifts from prospects (Corporate, Foundations, individuals, etc.) and determine the best ask and approach for each solicitation.
    • Plans, implements, tracks, monitors, and manages Agency Annual Donations ($100,000 net annually) including, but not limited to honor/memorial gifts, third party fundraising events, and LYBUNTS.
    • Transparent and self-motivated, listening as well as giving advice and respecting the abilities of others. A catalyst with vision who can create excitement and energy around VYH programs and services encouraging others to support the agency mission and vision.

    2. Expand Champions for Youth giving program.

    • a. Manage the Agency's annual giving program, increase the number of donors, and coordinate relevant special event programming and stewardship (Champions for Youth $1,000+ & Innovators Society $5,000+)
    • b. Continually refine case for support marketing materials and work with the Marketing & Communications team to promote through direct marketing campaigns (mail, email, social media, and public relations.)

    3. Expand the Catalyst Society, recognizing members who have expressed their commitment to the Agency through a planned gift of $25,000 or more.

    • a. Increase the number of donors and coordinate relevant legacy programming and stewardship events.
    • b. Continually refine case for support marketing materials and work with the Marketing & Communications team to promote through direct marketing campaigns (mail, email, social media, and public relations.)

      Minimum Qualifications for the Associate Director of Advancement:

      •  A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of professional fundraising experience is required. Must be amenable to a flexible work schedule involving evening and weekend hours, as well as fixed office hours.
      • A professional who is achievement-oriented and adept at prioritizing, multi-tasking, and working independently without close oversight.
      • A team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority both inside and outside of VYH.
      • A maturity, excellent skills in writing, organization, research, independence of judgement, and the ability to work independently as well as a team player.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Able to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines and have the ability to take initiative and interact with top leadership in the community.
      • Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor relationships over a period of time.
      • The candidate must be an individual who has never been convicted of any child abuse offenses

      Physical Requirements:

      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
      • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk, working on a computer.
      • Ability to navigate stairs
      • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 lbs.
      • This position requires travel up to 50% of the time to different offices, Advancement related events, and visiting donors in VYH's 16 county footprint.
